ECDC has been in operation since 1981 and has seen incredible growth and support over the past years. Our program has grown from 37 children in 2000 to over 350 children in 2014. We provide Quality childcare and preschool for the Evanston, Wyoming area. ECDC has achieved NAEYC Accreditation and the Early Head Start Childcare Partnership grant!
Our Purpose: To prepare children for success in school and beyond, creating life-long learners. Our program is facilitated and supported by the Wyoming Department of Education and we are observed by representatives of the Department to ensure quality in our program. We utilize research based curriculum that is founded on developmentally appropriate practices. Research shows that children learn best through meaningful play and interactions.
Early Head Start: Research shows that children who participate in Early Head Start are positively affected in the areas of health, language, and social-emotional development. Participation positively affects parenting behaviors, such as supportiveness for children's emotional and literacy development, and family self-sufficiency. Early Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child's first and most important teachers. Programs build relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being, and connections to peers and community.
Our Staff: Preschool teachers at ECDC have degrees in Early childhood and/or Education. The teachers stay current with changing curriculum, and participate in many local and out of town training. Our class sizes are small, so we can work one-on-one with the children. Infant and Toddler teachers at ECDC have their Children's Development Associates (CDA) Office Number (307)789-7040
